01What is available today
Boring Notch Octave is a native macOS application written in Swift and SwiftUI. Its source code, GPL-3.0 license, releases, installation notes, and upstream notices are published in the GitHub repository.
There is no public Boring HTTP API, SDK, webhook service, hosted account API, or MCP server in the current release. The Codex view is an app feature that reads a local Codex folder and requests account usage when opened; it is not a remote API or an MCP tool.
02Contribute to the project
Read the repository README and GPL-3.0 license before building or redistributing the app. The installation guide describes the current Xcode and macOS SDK requirements. The Octave bridge guide explains its local browser integration.
For a bug, use the public GitHub issue tracker and include the app and macOS versions, expected behavior, and steps to reproduce. Remove access tokens, song data, file paths, and other private details from issue reports.
